Idan Ofer, Chairman of the Board
Idan Ofer is Chairman of the Board of Project Better Place and Israel Corporation, Israel's leading holding company and the Chairman of Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd., a former chairman of United Mizrahi Bank in Israel and is a member of the board in various distinguished companies active in the fields of Chemicals, shipping, energy and Semiconductors.
The Ofer Group acquired Israel Corporation in April 1999 as part of its global strategy for business diversity. The Group holds a strategic investment in the cruise business through a significant shareholding in Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines along with direct investment in commercial maritime shipping through bases in Monaco, UK and Singapore in addition to commercial and residential real estate in various countries.
Ofer is an alumnus of London Business School (1982), holds a Fellowship from the School since 1999 and is a member of the School’s Europe Regional Advisory Board. He is a graduate of the Haifa University in Economics and Shipping (1980) and a member of the Global Advisory Board of John F Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. He was born in Haifa, Israel (1955).
